We have had some great freshmen in the MSL the last couple of years. Two years ago it was Havel and Wisser, last year we saw Perez from HE, Stanton from Hersey, and Abebe from Fremd.
Does anyone know who has the studs coming in this year? I know that BG is supposed to get some good eighth graders. We were supposed to get a 5:00 miler from Winston, but he moved to Marengo. Anyone?

We, Prospect, are getting a very impressive freshmen class this year. Ciolek was runner-up in XC and ran 4:49 on the track, Latulip was 4th in XC (although I am unsure if he will do XC), Ford was 10th in XC and 3 other freshmen coming to Prospect were all-state in IESA Class AA last fall.
I don't know the impact that this incoming class will immediately have but I think it very possible that one or two could establish themselves as consistent top 7 runners this fall. However, hopefully when they are juniors and seniors the team will be a force in Illinois.
BG is getting Giannis (state champ) and Marr (third in state). I would not be surprised to see both of those two step up into BG's top 5 and turn some heads in the conference.
All told, the MSL is getting a very solid incoming class. While we probably won't see another Havel or Torres type runner, some of the times these 8th graders have put up speak for themselves and I would not be surprised to see a few be all conference this fall.

My Dad works with Giannis' father or uncle or something. Good Greek boy.

Latulip is for sure not doing XC, kills me to see young blood not nurture their magnificent talent. Oh well, I still can't wait to see how we pan up against other teams during the Freshman race at Palatine.
