Hi All! I was just talking to John Lancaster and we were discussing setting up a Sunday Long Run group in Palatine. This all spawned from us talking about how much it stinks not having a team to train with! This was initially just going to include alumni, but why not open it up to everyone?! There are no set ability levels...everyone would be welcome. We have no date as to when we're going to start. There is absolutely no structure and organization to this group outside of this post. We're just throwing some feelers out there to see if anybody would be interested in getting together on Sundays and doing some 15+ milers! Please post here if you'd be interested (h.s. and alumni alike). This may not get going for a month or so (or maybe not at all! ) I'll make another post when/if this comes together. Best of luck h.s. guys on the upcoming four weeks! You're ready to roll! -Nate McPherson

Fellow Pirates Old and New : ) I know this was posted in 2009, but is this still happening, or did it ever happen? Now, about the +15 miles, I'm sure Nate was still a young man when he originally put this out, but I'm class of '98 here, so I'm happy if I can finish 4 - 5 in my running 12 times a year shape. Being back in P-town just makes me want to run again! So, here goes nothing, I'll be there this Sunday at the reservoir next to PHS, schools still closed on Sunday right? Aspen Park is what its called. Sunday, September 18, 2011 10:00 AM, gotta sleep in a tiny bit. The goal = eventually work up to 10 milers.I swear, they must be feeding kids something different in the cafeteria these days, its only September and I see some sick times being posted. Maybe they shortened the distance? j/k Good luck this year to the Palatine Young Men and Women Cross Country Teams! Feel free to send me a text or email me if you plan to come out.
