Alec didn't have as good a race in the final today as he did yesterday, but he still ran 4:18.11 and finished in 8th place (after a really shoddy DQ of Dundee Crown's Anthony Manfrin). The race was insanely fast with Thode running 4:05.17 to break the state record, but Alec hung in there enough to pick off one fading guy in the last 100 meters. I thought he was going to be 10th but he decided to run hard in the last 200 and give it a go. Manfrin and Bollman were the only two non-seniors in the event so the future looks bright as well.
